# nonspecific factor of production
A factor of production (q.v.) which has equal [values](https://www.freemarketcenter.com/lexicon/index.html#value) in the production processes of more than one particular type of economic good or service and is thus capable of alternate uses, as opposed to specific factors of production (q.v.). Examples of nonspecific factors of production are unskilled labor and such raw materials as iron ore and raw cotton.

# Notes
Since the word value is a very specific meaning in economics, I don't believe that it should be used in this case. I don't know if utility is a better word for it also has a very specific meaning, primarily to the consumer.
Maybe substitutability [or interchangeability] is the word them and searching for. A nonspecific factor of production can be used in several different production processes.
