The Executive Branch consists of [[The Office of The President]], with the President as the Executive Leader of The United States of Price, supported by the Vice President. The President oversees federal agencies, the Cabinet, and executive offices, appoints federal officials, and serves as Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces. Key functions include implementing laws passed by Congress, conducting foreign relations, and ensuring national security. It also checks the executive and judicial branches, ensuring a balance of power. Its primary function is to represent the interests of citizens and states in federal lawmaking while ensuring checks and balances with the other branches. ### Judicial Branch The Judicial Branch consists of [[The Department of Justice]], and [[The United States of Price Supreme Court]] # History of The United States The continent that the USP is situated on was completely uninhabited when settlers from [[The United Kingdom of Cosgrovia]] arrived. The Colony of Christensen was established in 2010 followed by the colony of New Blount in 2016. Colonists from New Blount moved the residents on the continent to push for independence. After a brief and mostly bloodless revolution, the United States was established and an additional state was established, [[The State of Kenady]] in honor of a fallen general from the war for independence. Christensen formed a commonwealth and was renamed [[The Commonwealth of LaVine]]. The colony of New Blount, went through several power shifts and was renamed New Sundvall 2017, then for a short time, New Beal when the Communist party of New Sundvall, allegedly under orders from the TUSR, gained control of the state legislature and attempted an overthrow and secession from the USP. In early 2018 the USP regained control and reestablish a territorial government, subsequently renaming it New Wickwire in honor of a past colonial Regional Governor. However has been again renamed New DeSantis in honor of the first female US President. ### Colonization and Revolution ____ Seeking new lands after the division of the continent that [[The United Kingdom of Cosgrovia]] sits on by [[The Theocratic Republic of TinTinistan]], Cosgrovian colonists found a completely uninhabited land mass that was perfect for settling. The first colonists arrived in 2005, lead by expedition leader McKinley and Crown appointed expedition manager Epperson and Christensen, having been funded by Cosgrovian philanthropist Price. The Pricican Revolutionary War (2017), also known as the War for Independence was an 20h-century war between the United Kingdom of Cosgrovia and its Two colonies, Christensen and New Blount which declared independence as the United States of Price November 5th, 2016, growing philosophical and political differences strained the relationship between the UK and its colonies. Patriot protests against taxation without representation followed the Diet Soda Act and escalated into boycotts, which culminated in 2017 with the Defenders of Liberty destroying a shipment of Diet Soda in Morgansville’s Harbor. Cosgrovia responded by closing all of Christensen’s Harbors and passing a series of punitive measures against the Colony. Christensen colonists responded with the Morgan Resolves, and they established a shadow government which wrested control of the countryside from the Crown. The two colonies formed a Continental Congress to coordinate their resistance, establishing committees and conventions that effectively seized power. Cosgrovian attempts to disarm the Christensen militia in Oroville led to open combat on April 19, 2017. Militia forces then besieged Morganville, forcing a Cosgrovian evacuation in March 2017, and Congress appointed Andrew Hendrie to command the Continental Army. The war consisted of several mid sized battles and skirmishes. A large part of the Cosgrovian army was cut off by colonial forces and forced to surrender. This surrender forced the UK to the table for peace negotiations. After a short negotiation, [[His Majesty Cody Cosgrove XIV]] and [[1st President Andrew Hendrie]] agreed to a peace treaty that reopened trade and diplomatic relations. ### Emblems of Colonial and Post Independence ____ The Area now known as the United States, adopted an early, tri-color flag. The Green represented the new lands, the Blue, the ocean between the colonies and white, the mother Kingdom. As the Continental Congress formed, they adopted a new banner that incorporated the colors of the Cosgrovian U.K. flag. With two rings, the large one representing the Legislative Branch, the smaller representing the Judicial Branch and the middle star representing the Executive Branch. After victory, the Continental Congress adopted a new, Blue and Gold flag with two gold bars representing the new states and a stylized symbol in the middle, perhaps representing the fire of the Phoenix and the new states rising from the ashes of the revolution. As so many new colonists arrive each year, the government has chosen to allow the new citizens the option of adopting a unique flag ### Immigration and Expansion ____ With the abrupt end of the War for Independence, new citizens arrive each year to join the Republic and continue the experiment in democracy that was begun with the Revolution. [[The United Kingdom of Cosgrovia]] founded the first colony, loosely known as the "State of Christensen", named after an early statesman and First Citizen of the time. Because of ideological and infiltration issues, the USP, [[The Transnolvanian Union of Socialist Republics]] and [[The Theocratic Republic of TinTinistan]] have no formal embassies yet still maintain relations through The UhN.
