Thavius Kreeg (pronounced: /ˈθeɪviʌs ˈkrig/ THAY-vee-us KREEG) was a human priest of [[Torm]] and the ruler of the city of [[Elturel]] and the theocracy of [[Elturgard]] in the Western Heartlands in the late 15th century DR, holding the title of High Observer and later High Overseer. He was hailed as a hero for saving [[Elturel]] by summoning the [[Companion]]. During the beginning of the [[Descent into Avernus Campaign]], his closest companions in the [[Hellriders]], [[Reya Mantlemorn]] and [[Victor Beaumont]] accompanied Thavius outside of Elturel, only hours before the whole city cataclysmically disappeared. They begin to suspect that Thavius is being deceitful, and learn that he had the [[Shield of the Hidden Lord]] stolen from his wife, [[Desmona Hhune Kreeg]] in [[Elturel]] the morning of the city's disappearance. What's more, he seems to have an evil artifact around his neck hidden under his clothes - though he tells Victor it is a sacred relic to [[Torm]].
