Helm (pronounced: /ˈhɛlm/ HELM) was the [[Faerûn]] god of guardians and protectors, worshiped by guards and paladins both. The Vigilant One had long been seen as a cold and focused deity who impartially took the role of defender, and sometimes enforcer, but his activities in [[The Time of Troubles]] caused the folk of Faerûn to view him differently. The Watcher was the epitome of the vigilant guardian and embodiment of the spirit of watchfulness, whether used for good or ill. He was a very popular figure in the [[Forgotten Realms]] universe. In the [[Out of the Abyss Campaign]], [[Irrodore Bassol]] found herself at the "mercy" of a group claiming to be fundamentalists of [[Helm]] called [[Helm's Mercy]], who exploited convicted criminals for cheap labor in the city of [[Neverwinter]]. #God/DiA/OotA/Canon
