# Changes Compared to the Cannes Cut
The changes are many, and while there are large changes there are also many smaller ones. They spent an extra year on the film, mostly on "VFX" shots - mostly the [[Doomsday Scenario Interface]], rather than anything most people would think of when the term VFX was used, although there are still a couple of those as well.
The theatrical cut generally has better compositing and visual effects, but several are still quite rough. It also has a metric tonne of newsreel exposition. While the [[Southland Tales Cannes Cut|Cannes Cut]] has better flow and is more coherent overall.
