# 2005 Draft
## Campaign
Bob Frost was a Senator from *California*.
Frost wasn't slated to be vice president in the [[Southland Tales 2005 Draft|2005 Draft]]. His campaign was solely for his next senate term. It makes sense why they changed this to raise the stakes, but it was clearly very last minute because there is very little dialogue or literally anything else about the presidential race itself.
We see the campaign stickers everywhere in the film, so we know it is happening, but the presidential candidate surnamed "Eliot" is only mentioned by name in dialogue in a single blink and you miss it news reel in the [[Southland Tales Theatrical Cut]] only (and not in [[Southland Tales Cannes Cut|Cannes Cut]] at all!).
I suspect that they decided to make Frost a *vice* presidential candidate instead of the presidential candidate is because audiences would expect a much higher level of intrigue and advisors and appearances from a presidential candidate, while VPs are often viewed as just along for the ride.
# IRL
Just as a personal comment, Osborne is so funny and it is criminal that he didn't go on to do bigger roles.
