[Clear Linux](https://clearlinux.org/) is Intel's vanity Linux distribution optimized for their hardware.
There are 3 primary flavors:
- A developer-focused desktop (4.2GB)
- A "lightweight" text-based server (1.4GB)
- For containers (no independent download available, must be obtained through one of the image libraries)
I wouldn't recommend running it on a non-Intel CPU. It supports Docker, Kubernetes, and [Kata](https://katacontainers.io/). The latter of which which appears to be another Intel-sponsored project.
# Notability
There are some interesting Intel-specific optimizations and build processes, but it is mostly notable because [[Ikey Doherty]] worked for Intel on it during his multi-year hiatus from [[Solus]].
# History
Intel introduced Clear Linux in 2015.
