# Notability
I had an interest in library operating systems. Still do for embedded use.
This was an attempt to subvert Linux (by the CEO's own admission) on cloud platforms. While the project was cool, this approach does not seem economically viable.
# Philosophy
Created by a for-profit business of the same name. Their business model and financials are unknown.
It is open source, so it is still available for use and development.

# History
> We went bust last summer after we got shafted.

Went "bust" in summer of 2019 and silently [discontinued](https://github.com/includeos/IncludeOS/commits/master) in 2020 after the initial hype cycle in 2017.
There does not appear to be any active fork as of [[2023-10-14]] .
