# Some Basic Guidelines - Common: Substances that grant powers used by adepts; they can sometimes be utilized by tech and music. - Tech: Substances that can really only be used by tech - Magic: Substances that can really only be utilized by magic or spirits ## Common Substances and Technology - In general, technology can't grant a person powers, it's constructed to make the effect themselves. For example, a tech object with silver in it won't really grant a person endurance strength and durability, but maybe it will make the *object itself* more durable. So animal shape and influence emotion are also off-limits from technology. - The rule of thumb for common substances precedent: go and check if that substance is included in already-existing tech or in a technologist class, and if it's already been used in tech then you can make your own gadgets with it - THAT SAID feel free to experiment! These rules exist to keep the vibe of tech pure, but if your character has figured out how to make tech out of substances that usually aren't used in tech then go for it! - Also there are definitely
