# Time of the darkened sky
In the winter months on Glaccaris, it is known that the continents northern position gives them a shriveled amount of sunlight while the southern continents see greater and lengthier days.
The change in seasons brings both the lightest and darkest times for the continent of Glaccaris, seeding the ambitions of one God over another. Deythera reigns high and mighty during not only this time of year but over Glaccaris as a whole. While the continent is occupied by devotees of the Giants and their heritage clans, the divine religion found in the reaches of Depocryss and even somewhat in Arebyss can still be found in the frigid wastes. Prayers to the "Winter Lady" bring a sense of cultural warmth and good tidings among the people. This harsh land hosts a staggering population in spite of the conditions they are so regularly thrust into.
When the world goes dark for months on end, the moons become a great ally in navigation. With an abundance of light shed from the two of them, especially when both are in full brilliance, they offer a guiding light among the soundless snowy landscapes. With the months waning into darker times, there is a dying of light ceremony held across the continent, but there is also a following celebration to honor the Winter Lady. While not every settlement on the continent is practiced or even allowed to practice, they instead turn their attention to the "Voice of the Winter Skies." This voice can be heard through the whipping howls of the wind, hailing from the eternal storm or even from the countless trees rustling in the abundant blizzards. Most say they hear nothing but the wind, but those who believe in the stories will catch a whisper from the back of their mind as the storm envelops them. The Titans speak to the people of Glaccaris, in rare and fascinating ways, but the Voice of the Winter Skies has only revealed himself to those of true belief.
>[!quote] When the world is soundless around you, standing still until you move, scentless air clinging to your surroundings and the moons your only light, the beauty of the world becomes a haunted and empty one.
