# Forgeborn ## Description Graced with ashen colored skin, the Forgeborn are a race of easily overlooked traits when compared to the other humanoids of the world. They bare shades of varied gray as not only their skin tones but also their hair, flecked with an almost ember-touched fringe. There are patches on parts of their body that resemble metallic plates infused into their form, but these plates are where they can draw their embodied weapon from, the plate disappears temporarily while they wield this weapon that they are blessed with at birth. Forgeborn also rarely possess features that resemble other races, such as pointed ears like an elf or a half elf, horns akin to a tiefling, or even bodily embedded "tattoos" or markings like a Goliath. Forgeborn are able to call upon their innate weapon after they mature at the age of 18. While their parents make them aware of what type of weapon they are gifted with, the individual Forgeborn is able to shape the weapon with the progress of their life. They may have a preferred shape to their gift when they are young, that adapts to look different visually as they grow. Their lifespan reaches to similar lengths of a half elf, or roughly 200 years. Their skin is a wide variety of metallic colors, with the most common being a steel or silver. Their weapon can appear on their bodies in the same way that one might put a weapon into a scabbard or sheath on their back or hip, but it is usually only warriors that carry their gift in this way regularly. ## Lore Not long after the creation of humanity in its final form, the Gods continued to pursue many forms of life that would resemble humans. One of these forms of life was known as the Forgeborn; a race of people composed from the elements of humanity and weaponry into one form. The race itself was made through the efforts of Ustus and Betia, combining the rigidness of the tools that the gods invented with the figure of a human. Forgeborn are innately given a weapon that is melded within their being. This weapon is discovered upon birth when a Forgeborn enters the world they are given a birthmark somewhere on their body that indicates their gifted weapon. In societies, Forgeborn will group into tribes which are lead by the largest and strongest members. These tribes have a great deal of rivalry between them, as there is little territory left for them which they can call their own. None of these settlements are much larger than a simple village, though there are occasional members of the tribe who branch out and seek different civilization. ## Racial Traits **Ability Score Increases** +2 Con, +1 Str or Dex, -1 Wis **Size** Forgeborn stand anywhere from 5-7 feet tall. Your size is Medium. **Age** Forgeborn typically live to around 200 years. **Speed** Your base walking speed is 30 feet. **Walking Weapon** As a bonus action, you may call forth the weapon that resides bonded to your soul. You are considered proficient with this weapon and may use your Wisdom modifier for attack rolls and damage rolls made with this weapon. This weapon carries special properties depending on the chosen weapon you call forth.
