V-(으)ㄹ 생각[계획,예정]이다
This is used when talking about future thoughts or plans.
생각이다, 계획이다, and 예정이다 are points along an uncertainty scale for future plans from least to mos certain.
- 생각이다 is if you are thinking about doing something but unsure of the plan. It is the most uncertain.
- 계획이다 is something that you plan to do, and you have decided that you will do it. But the exact date might be uncertain.
- 예정이다 is only used when talking about specific set future event—something scheduled.
If you are planning a trip, you could use 생각이다 if you have not bought the plane ticket yet. 예정이다 would imply that you have already bought the tickets.
The future event can be next week, month, year, etc. There is no minimum duration.
# Conjugation

# Examples
1. 수업 후에 낮잠을 ==**잘** 생각이에요==. (I’m thinking of taking a nap after class.)
2. 건강이 나빠져서 앞으로는 몸에 좋은 음식만 ==**먹**을 생각이다==. (My health has gotten worse, so from now on I’m thinking of eating food good for my health.)
3. 오늘은 속이 안 좋아서 회식에서 술을 안 ==**마실** 생각이에요==. (I’m not feeling well today, so I’m thinking of not drinking alcohol at the dinner party.)
4. 리나 씨는 결혼해서 아이를 ==**낳지 않**을 생각이다==. (Lina is not planning to get married and have children.)
5. 이번 겨울에는 날씨가 너무 추우니까 ==**해외 여행**을 갈 계획이에요==. (This year’s winter will be very cold so we’re planning to go on vacation overseas.)
