Originally from the American southeast, the Tuscarora fought English in [[Dan's History Web/US 1/Topic Index/Carolina]] in the 1710s. The survivors of the [[Tuscarora War]] fled to [[Dan's History Web/US 1/Notes to Fill/Pennsylvania]] and [[Lumber/New York]], where they became the sixth tribe of the [[Dan's History Web/US 1/Topic Index/Iroquois|Haudenosaunee]]. During the [[American Revolution]], some sided with the rebels while others fought for the English and then relocated to Ontario.
