Google entered its "[Gemini era](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fuimO6ErKI)" in early 2024. By mid-2025 the rebrandings have slowed with major improvements happening every month.
Gemini is the name Google gave to its current generation family of [multimodal AI models](https://zapier.com/blog/multimodal-ai), but in typical Google fashion, it also applies to basically everything else that's related to AI.
Here is how Bernie Goldbach is using Gemini.
- Google Gemini for Multimodality. Google has a family of multimodal AI models [to power AI features on its devices](https://blog.google/products/google-nest/gemini-google-home/) and I am integrating Gemini in workflows.
- [Google Gemini as a chatbot](https://zapier.com/blog/how-to-use-google-bard/) runs on the Gemini family of models. (This is the chatbot that used to be called Bard.)
- [Google Gemini as Assistant](https://blog.google/products/android/gemini-watches-cars-tvs-xr/) runs on my 5yo Samsung phone. It also runs on Android Wear watches, Android Auto, and Google TV.
- [Gemini for Google Workspace](https://zapier.com/blog/gemini-for-workspace/), the AI features integrated across Gmail, Google Docs, and the other Workspace apps for paying users.
- These Geminis are based around the core family of multimodal AI models and they feature in all the digital transformation modules taught by Bernie Goldbach's Iteration Training Services.
