> *"There is entropy in every system, and too all things have their ending. I am the alpha and the omega, where Creation began and where Creation will one day end." -excerpt from the Spell-Breaker Edda* If the true nature of [[Creation]] is seldom understood conceptually, its dark twin is even less so. Part of this may lie in the secretive nature of those who interact most with it: the [[Demons]]. Void can be thought of as a purely destructive force, the entropy of all things, but it is hardly synonymous with chaos. Instead, some sources paint it as a sort of reverse of Creation that can be drawn on to create the powers of [[Sorcery]], a black mirror of non-existence that nevertheless fuels the power of the most dangerous demons. For the gods of [[The Imperium]], Void is painted more as the great ordering, an unfeeling and unliving dominion over the chaotic world that has arisen from the ashes of [[The Revealing]]. Void and Creation are anathema to one another, quite literally incapable of existing simultaneously. Scholars have never really been able to articulate or examine the conflict when it arises purely between those forces, though many battles between users of [[Magic]] and demons have been recorded throughout history. Some stories tell of even select mortals who have been able to channel Void, though how this is possible remains a mystery for the ages. While the tenets and desires of Creation's servants are relatively clear, especially in the East, the "agenda" of Void's servants is more fractured. The Imperium under the rule of [[The Princes of Iron]] were only aware of it insofar as the power of their deities and the stories of [[The Desolate Throne]], an artifact created by [[The Deceiver]] to control Void. Apostate demons who left after the cataclysm of [[Godfall]] and made their home in other places have different interpretations and significances attached to the force that was said to have given them life. But if one thing is certain about Void, it is still very much present in the world. One need only look to the dangerous and maddening [[Sorcerous Anomalies]] that still remain as an after-effect of the great war that was the Revealing.
