Hello! I'm back. I was on vacation in Hawaii and catching up with work since. I think I might start doing these dumps on Weekends, since I have more freetime to compile.
That said, I've got a LOT I've written about in this timeframe, and interesting stuff I've collected. Check it!
## Interesting Stuff
### [[ttv lol pro]]
This has been pretty effective at removing Twitch ads for me, but YMMV!
### TamagotchiUni
I got one because I guess I don't have enough responsibility in my life. It's very cute! Probably the best version for an adult. I dunno much about the indepth aspects of Tamagotchis, but it feels like my current isn't as needy as previous versions.
You may know that I had a Kingdom Hearts Tama. Sora's dead, just fyi. Sorry.
### Steam Deck OLED Snagged
I grabbed one! I didn't think I would but I actually game A LOT in bed nowadays, so that, the combined battery, and the traveling I'll be doing a lot in the future (more on that in a bit) made it worthwhile. I'll probs post thoughts about it - and the Deck as a console in general - when it arrives. Hopefully soon!
### [[Handheld Gaming is the Future]]
On that note, here's a great little article about what's been appealing to me about the Steam Deck and handheld games in general, from the Verge.
### [[MyNoise]]
Cute and free app that generates white noise. There's a lot of great themed sets that you can use to focus. Pretty much always running it as I write.
## Musings
### [[White Women, Goodreads, and the Curation of Literature]]
This has been in my spirit for a while. It's about how white women gatekeep literature. I worked pretty hard on it so give it a look!
### [[28 Days of Horror Movies 2023]]
I wrote a little about every horror movie I watched in October! You can click through and pick a movie at your leisure. Some are short, some are long, some are indepth, some are random whatever thoughts. I'm very happy with this as a "project" because it helps to exemplify what I like about the [[Digital Garden]] as a concept: the ability to freely write this stuff regardless of the depth.
### [[Fonts]]
I'm compiling a list of cool fonts. Check it out and make sure to tell me your own faves so I can add them!
### [[Every Persona Game Should Have Sub-Personas]]
I feel like the title for this one speaks for itself tbh.
### [[Persona 4 vs 5 Spinoffs]]
Related to the above. Persona 4 spinoffs own across the board, but outside of one P5 spinoff, the rest have sucked. I'm hoping Tactica bucks the trend. We'll find out soon enough.
### [[The Nerd Fashion Tierlist]]
I have made an official version of my tierlist of nerd clothes. I think this is pretty definitive, but I'd be happy to hear your own arguments - or maybe you have a place I should add to the list. Hit me up if so!
### [[My 25 Fave Games]]
Can't believe I haven't done this before. I've put up a page of my top 25. Maybe another day I'll write the "why" for each.
### [[Scott Pilgrim vs High Expectations]]
Massive spoilers for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off in here. Be wary.
## What I'm Playing
Right now it's bouncing between [[STAR OCEAN THE SECOND STORY R (2023)]], [[Persona 5 Tactica (2023)]], [[Like a Dragon Gaiden - The Man Who Erased His Name (2023)]] and Super Mario RPG. I'm laying off on my Steam games until the OLED Deck comes in though, so I'll likely be finishing Super Mario RPG next. It's perfect as a bedtime game.
Also I did it! I proved myself! (I finished [[Shin Megami Tensei V - Vengeance]]). I can't wait for an enhanced port to get announced now. But yeah it was great!
## Velvet Album of the Week
It took 18 years, but an official soundtrack of Avatar: The Last Airbender's Book One has finally released, so this is def my album of the week. I'm extremely happy to have a high-quality, studio version of Agni Kai. It's on your favorite streaming service, so check it out.
## Status Update
Things are good! The Hawaii Trip was great - I might write about it at some point. I also plan to write about my saga trying out YouTube Music this past week, as well as how language learning feels for me at the moment - I picked up Duolingo to brush up on my Arabic.
On that note, I've been watching a lot of Arabic TV with my mom these past few weeks and it's been great - both as a way for us to bond, and a way for me to practice my Arabic. We're currently on Baba El-Magal. It's very dramatic. This is not surprising to me.
I feel like the anxiety has waned a little, so that's good. Hopefully it sticks around lol.
## Signing Off
Hope you've been doing well! If you need to survive the holiday season, I'm giving you my energy - I don't really need it because we don't celebrate any of it, lol. Stay warm, hmu on [Cohost](https://www.cohost.org/mint) if you wanna talk, and I'll see you next time! 👋🏾
