A couple of days ago I lamented the lack of fun, freaky little apps that you used to be able to find cruising through app stores. No one app store cruises any more - there's nothing of value to be found 90% of the time. Apps aren't fun, they exist to derive prophet from you, usually via overpriced subscriptions. This sucks and is bad. BUT you can still find some good stuff with a little work. Here's some freaky little apps that I've found since I switched back to Android a year or so ago:

^f271e1
A notification app that lets you decide the logic for when you want (or don't want) to see them. Very usual for clowns with ADHD [^1]. It's hard to explain how useful it is, so here are some examples:
> 1. **If** a notification is received from Messages (or two other unspecified sources), **then** initiate a cooldown period for the conversation for 2 minutes.
> 2. **If** a WhatsApp message contains a specific phrase (Phrase), **then** mute the conversation.
> 3. **If** a WhatsApp message is received from a contact named FULL NAME during a scheduled period, **then** mute the conversation.
> 4. **If** a Gmail or Google notification contains the name "FULL NAME", **then** make the notification sticky.
> 5. **If** a APP NAME notification contains the phrase "Prepare for", **then** make the notification sticky.
> 6. **If** a Reminder notification is received, **then** make it sticky.
> 7. **If** a Messages notification contains "Reminder", **then** make it sticky.
> 8. **If** notifications are received from all but 3 or 5 specified apps, **then** batch them and display every 4 hours.
> 9. **If** a Google notification contains "See full forecast", **then** batch them and display every 4 hours.
> 10. **If** a Messages notification contains "MashreqBank" or "SIB", **then** copy the verification code and dismiss the notification.
> 11. **If** a APP NAME notification contains a specific phrase (partially obscured), **then** remind every 15 minutes with a sticky notification.
> 12. **If** a SmartThings notification contains "Updating", **then** dismiss it immediately.
## [Downpour](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=limited.downpour.downpour&hl=en_US&gl=US)
Lets you make cute and silly little games on your phone by adding photos, drawings and text to pages and linking them together. Easy, accessible, zero code, and can be easily played in any browser. All you need is a link! A solo outing worth supporting.
## [Hermit](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chimbori.hermitcrab&hl=en_US&gl=US)
Hermit turns web pages into Lite Apps. You can turn a page you frequently use into a Lite App, block adds from it, and sandbox it into its own container on your phone. A little bit of work to make useful, but I love it for shit that I don't wanna use the actual app of, or for websites that don't have apps but that I want to shuffle away from my browser, like [[Focumon is Pretty Cool|Focumon]].
## [Pinned Notes](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shubham.notes&hl=en_US&gl=US)
What it says on the tin! Open the app, write whatever note you need to make, then mark it as pinned. It stays in your notification bar until you mark it as complete. Very simple, but cool and useful in a way you probably forgot phones could be.
## [Quick Cursor](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quickcursor&hl=en_US&gl=US)

My favorite app on this list. If you have a big-ass phone you know using it one-handed is kind of useless. With Quick Cursor you can swipe from the edge of the screen to create a little mouse that lets you click on stuff higher up or to the side of your phone. This has actually been a game-changer for me, I can actually use my phone with one hand now. Even more useful if you have one of those foldable phones I'd bet.

There you go, some freaky little apps. I'll update this list if I find more.
