If you have an old version of the Simple Bookshelf and you want to update, here's how you can do that. ## Using the [[Simple Vault Importer]] The Simple Vault Importer makes it easy to import vaults. If you're updating the Simple Bookshelf, I recommend you follow the instructions for the [[Simple Vault Importer]]. _Always make sure to backup your vault before importing files_, just in case. This vault only includes template files and example files, so **as long as you haven't customized your templates**, this shouldn't cause you to lose work. If you _have_ customized your templates, then you might want to use the manual install method below, or install this system in a temporary folder (e.g. "Imports") so you can inspect each file before overwriting your own files. If you changed the file structure from the default, then the Importer will by default import to the original location: e.g. "Simple Systems/Books System". Once the files are imported, you can delete your old files and move the new files into your preferred locations. After importing, make sure you delete any old versions of the template files: having duplicate files can be confusing. ## Updating Manually If you'd prefer not to use the Simple Importer, then you can of course update manually. All of the changes to this version are listed below, just make sure you update these files, and you should be good to go! ### 1.4 Changes - Updated the "Code" folder to enable local images - Adds new template for the Book Search plugin, under `Simple Systems/Books System/Templates/Book Search Template` ## For Update 1.4 Also be sure to set up the [[Using the Book Search Plugin|Book Search plugin and template]]! I think it's a huge upgrade, and I'm excited to hear how you all like it.
