A small town of about two hundred people, [[Phandalin]] is still considered a frontier town. It is built on the ruins of a much [[Undalan|older settlement]] that was contemporaneous with the ancient, now lost Netheril Empire. [[Breldik Blackbeard]] and [Barclay Festerton](https://bryanmiller.us/myrpg/html/terminology.html#barclayFesterton) were notable residents in the early decades of the [[Post-Ravaging|PR]] 200s.
