## I thought I would send this.
Now I don’t think I will.
I need another week in the cocoon.
I am still goo.

### In the Garden 🌱
We found aster self seeded in the backyard. It’s everything I wanted the erigeron to be so I’ve ordered some aster seeds.
Collected more tithonia seeds & hyacinth bean pods.

## Books 📖
I’ve never successfully read a seasonal book. I usually end up reading something like Wintering in Summer. 😂
The closest I’ve come was reading The Christmasaurus with David last year, but even so we didn’t finish until January.
But this year I planned ahead and I’m reading Witches Abroad by Terry Pratchett during spooky season. I love his witch books - not leave of which because one of his first witch books is about a girl who wants to be a wizard defying the gender binary.

# This time last year...
I started Neurokind, I pressed leaves from a papaya tree that sprouted in the compost, I [removed the paywall](https://sarahshotts.substack.com/p/riding-a-creative-wave) on a handful of previously locked posts, and I moved my membership off Substack. (We tried a bunch of platforms before ending up with old school snail mail.)
I also wrote [Riding a Creative Wave](https://sarahshotts.substack.com/p/riding-a-creative-wave).
## Two Years Ago
I was writing about [fluctuating capacity](https://sarahshotts.substack.com/p/fluctuating-capacity). These weekly flashbacks are so illuminating. I always think of autumn as a particularly productive time for me, but perhaps for that reason I seem to overload it and sometimes take on too much.

_The Internet is like a tin can telephone. It’s just a rusty can until someone talks back._
What are you making? What are you growing? What are you finding inspiring?
I appreciate you.
