It was self-inflicted and completely avoidable. In their pursuit of profits they consumed everything within reach. They gave nothing back to the world that had given them everything. They stripped the soil, heated the oceans, consumed the fresh water, and choked the air. The food chain buckled and then broke. All in pursuit of something that doesn't actually exist, money. The rich consumed the poor while deviously disguising it as growth and progression. By the time enough people were willing to question what had been done, it was too late. There was nothing left to save. It took a long time for the world to heal after the humans. But heal it did. The green came back. Water became plentiful and clear. The oceans cooled and clean air breathed life back into the world. It's not fully known how or when some animals became intelligent and began to build their own society upon the ruins of the previous. The world is green, bright, and growing. Humanity is gone. A solarpunk setting where small intelligent animals build a better civilization from the ruins of ours. The world comes to life through short fiction, a tabletop RPG, original art, and worldbuilding that's growing in real time. You're seeing this early. The world, the stories, the game, and the art are all taking shape together.
