The huge question that is the center of the battle between capitalism and communism (the two major types of the [[What is the domination system|domination system]] represented today) is: who owns everything? Private persons? Corporations? The State? As usual, they have us arguing about something that is irrelevant and demonstrably false. That doesn't actually exist. Ownership, as a concept, *isn't real*. It is utterly unprovable. Any non-domination society or culture doesn't even understand what that would mean. If you explained to them 'how we do things' (here in hell), they would say: > "You mean that someone claims exclusive rights to the land/air/water/oil/gas/sunlight, etc. and then makes other people *pay* [be slaves to them] them for it? How is *that* supposed to build community?" Most of us read about the conversations with the "US Indians" as they were called and hear things like, "Manhattan was bought for [some beads](https://www.livescience.com/was-manhattan-sold-for-24-dollars.html#:~:text=In%201626%2C%20the%20story%20goes,City%2C%22%20Paul%20Otto%2C%20a)". Well, Manhattan could never be *sold* because native tribes didn't *own* land. Or air. Or anything else. They didn't have a *concept* of that. No surveying. No records. No banks. No method of even calculating 'ownership'. How could they? The very idea is absurd. And yet, our entire system/society is built upon it. And we embrace it to the degree that we have people who own 50 luxury apartments all over the world in the best cities that *they never live in* while hundreds of thousands have no home to live in at all. In the "best/wealthiest" country in the world. In fact, even when there was a massive collapse and all sorts of empty houses in 2008, [they were demolished](https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/banks-turn-to-demolition-of-foreclosed-properties-to-ease-housing-market-pressures/2011/10/06/gIQAWigIgL_story.html), rather than provided to those who needed them. And the politicians, the media, *even the religions* **don't even question** this. In fact, they *get in* on the action, by trying to get one up on everyone else. They try and buy as much as they can to 'win' the game of 'capitalism'. You can't 'win' a game that requires others to go homeless and hungry, though. Because they are connected to you. They are part of you. # Deeper into "The Myth of Ownership" You do not own anything. No one has ever owned anything. Or anyone. How can I say that? What is ownership determined by? *Who the government says owns something*. What is the government? A creation of people. An abstract concept. Did any person have ownership or rights to declare it, before gov't existed? No. So, can many people together declare that a government exists that have rights that they, themselves, do not possess? Of course not. Ownership is a violation of Natural Law. We arrived on earth. No one owned anything. Therefore, who has the right to declare ownership? No one. Because they didn't own it in the first place. We can have possession of something. Control. We can have stewardship. Meaning, it's our job to manage and take care of for the moment. But, there is no such things as ownership. Because there is no right or jurisdiction for anyone in natural law to proclaim it from. All ownership is false, illusory, and a violation of natural law. We must abandon the idea of ownership and replace it with stewardship, or at worst, possession. You can steward things in this life, including your body. But you don't 'own' anyone or anything, including your own body. The ridiculousness of this goes so far that [[People try to own people]] [[The Federal Government Doesn't Exist]]
