A Preacher must bring a message with him, or else why should he speak? This Preacher certainly preached a message: <em>Life is absurd!</em>
"Your exertion to extract meaning from your days is meaningless."
If it weren't that the Preacher were one of the most famous men in history, we would ridicule and ignore him. But this was David's son and Israel's greatest king who preached that our life's labors end in nothing. Wouldn't he know and shouldn't we take him seriously?
