# Philosopher's Code
Welcome!
So happy you are here. You might ask where "here" is. The most honest answer would be - welcome to my brain:)
## What is this place
Weird, right? Let me explain. This is my "knowledge vault", an ever evolving collection of interconnected notes about every book I've read, every concept I thought about, every idea I wanted to share with the world, it's all in here for you to enjoy (or not, that's up to you).
Feel free to roam around, there are notes about [[to be moral is to act moral|morality]], [[Triage|productivity]], [[Happiness is an internal state|happiness]] and so much more. **Simply use the search bar to see what comes up and travel through the links from there**.
## Folder Structure
This folder has two main folders:
1. **Content** - Core ideas that are easily connected to other ideas
2. **Sources** - either very specific ideas (such as the [[5 minute rule]]), or a collection of ideas grouped by a unifying concept (such as books or philosophers)
While the sources folder breaks down to self evident folders (such as books, philosophers and videos), the content folder might seem confusing at first. Here is the explanation:
1. **Notes** - core atomic ideas, the basic building block of knowledge
2. **MOCs** - what is commonly called a *map of content*, which is an overview of a given topic. For example the [[Existentialism (MOC)]] MOC links to all the notes that are related to that topic.
3. **Synthesis** - These are a synthesis of multiple notes into a more complex argument, one that travers through different topics,
4. **Insights** - These represents distilled insights based on other notes, a more "practical" implication of them, if you will.
Just as FYI, most notes have a code section (for notes it's the *connections* heading, and for MOCs it's the *Unsorted Notes*). Unfortunately, obsidian publish doesn't support Dataview queries (which allow me to dynamically list notes based on a query). These are very helpful in my day-to-day use of the vault (locally), but you can ignore those in the published version.
## Philosopher's Code Blog
Aside from general exploration, the usefulness of the vault is in it's [[Emergence|emerging]] property. By having so many [[Atomism|atomic]] connect ideas, it allowed me to create the *philosophers code* posts, which dives into thought-provoking concepts, connecting ideas from different domains such as philosophy, productivity, and happiness in fresh and meaningful ways.
If you want to join the newsletter, fill in the details in the box at the bottom of the page.
If you wish to explore recent posts - I suggest looking at my "creator profile" [here](https://philosophers-code.kit.com/profile), or explore the "Synthesis"/"Insights" folders.

Have fun!
