Name: Colette Riley ANA: Colette Williams and Twain Riley, Lavey Riley-Williams, The Woman Who Watches Age: 20's-30's. Unaging Gender: Female (She/They) Sexuality: Pansexual, antiromantic Height: 6'0" Weight: ~150 Appearance: Collarbone length red hair that is parted mostly to the middle. Fair toned skin with few if any blemishes. Wears suits and dress shoes 24/7 and has a badge identifying herself while in the RC. Biography/History: Created by Molly sometimes between 2040 and 2044. Colette was originally half of both [[Colette Williams - Character Sheet|Colette Williams]] and [[Riley Twain - Character Sheet|Riley Twain]], two separate individuals tasked with investigating a being known as "[[Molly Williams - Character Sheet|The Maelstrom]]" for their respective employers/handlers. After their mixed success and failure on different fronts, Molly Williams offers them a proposal: It will combine the two of them together since they by then had become inseparable to allow for them to always be together. The two agree, and are morphed into one being, Lavey Riley-Williams. The two live as themself for a full year before Molly's jealousy at their union becomes too much for it to bear. It captures Lavey again, and tortures them by separating all four part of them from each other and holding them in stasis. Where Twain and Williams are able to hold on and remain calm, Colette and Riley become bitter and hateful towards Molly for its aggression and abuse. After a year of torment Molly speaks to them again for a final proposition. Molly offers to reunite Twain with Williams so that they can teach Molly to be better and to try and find someone as perfect for it as they are for each other. Twain and Williams, both desperate to not be alone anymore, agree. Before they are united, Molly, unspeaking, takes Colette and Riley and extracts what last pieces of them (their empathy, their sympathy, their desire to help others) that it finds useful and gives them to Twain and Williams while removing undesirable traits from the others (their pragmatism, orderly behavior, and ability to make black and white decisions) to deposit back into Colette. The two are united into Twain Williams who becomes bound primarily to the physical world but also to the land of the dead. With this, they are able to naturally transport themself through mirrors to the afterlife without dying. Colette and Riley, the remains of what Molly didn't care for, are left to fade away separate from each other with the expectation that they would pass on with nothing left to live for. By a stroke of luck, they find each other and end up forming into who becomes Colette Riley. Lost, she wanders until coming across [[The Reflective Collective]] who take her in to assist her in passing. When asked, "What unresolved business do you have?" Colette is unable to answer. With nothing to live for or die for, she finds herself inexplicably bound to the world of the dead while not being able to pass on from it. Barnabie takes her in and attempts to help her, but with no history he can't draw from any achievements or failures to press her on, and no way to force her to resolution, he passed her case all the way up to the at the time Corrective Handler, [[Vi Torrence - Character Sheet|Vi Torrence]]. Vi, noticing Colette's disposition, trains her to take over his position so that he may pass on himself as is ordered. She works under Vi until 2047 when he goes missing after being sent to investigate a group that would later become known as [[The Tartarus Amalgamation]]. With Vi gone a spot is left for Colette to fill; her hesitation to take the role due to the nature of the work is put to the test when she is tasked with investigating Tartarus herself. In her field work she discovers a large cult of people who have learned to straddle the line of life and death just like Twain Williams has, but notes a presence of bright, glowing pearls in their heads. These members notice Colette immediately when she finds them in the spiritual world, but she is able to overpower and remove the pearl inside of one in an attempt to save herself. It comes loose in her hand, and she is brought to the living world again. The pearl, missing from her grasp, is discovered to have migrated to her forehead between her brows. With it she finds that entering through mirrors *a la* Twain allows for her to remain as long as her body has the energy to push forward. Personality: Direct and terse. Spends little time explaining herself and has perfected her own sense of humor. Cannot show emotion in a way other than what could be described as "the way an emotionally unavailable father" does. Demonstrates strict professionalism while also acknowledging that some decisions must be made to keep the machine running.
