##### ORB Driver v1.0.9 This quick start guide will get the **ORB Driver** install and working on **XProtect**. For this guide we will not cover the **Remote Retrieval App**. This was covered in a separate guide found here [[Remote Retrieval Tool]]. There are two main parts the the **ORB Driver** installer package, all included in the ZIP package. There is the [Driver] that would be installed on the **XProtect Recording Server** and the [Plugins] that would be installed wherever you need to manage the **ORB Driver** in the **XProtect Management Client**. ## ORB Driver Installer -         **ORB Driver for XProtect Setup v#.#.##.msi** Install this on your XProtect Recording Server [Next], [I Agree], [Next], [Next], [Next], [Yes] to close or restart processes or services, [Close] >[!note] >If you are not able to stop the required processes and services in the pop-ups the **ORB Driver** can not be used. You will need to schedule a time to do this. -         **Orb Driver for XProtect Plugins Setup v#.#.##.msi** Install this where you will manage the **ORB Driver**, where the **XProtect Management Client** is installed. [Next], [I Agree], [Next], [Next], [Next], [Yes] to close or restart processes or services, [Close] ## XProtect Management Client Open the **XProtect Management Client**. Select [Servers] > [Recording Servers] > pick the **XProtect Recording Server** you intend to add a **ORB Driver** to. ![[z_img/a18b22404a8a2c0b3b0db8f183570c36_MD5.jpeg]] Select the **Add Hardware** option [Manual]. ![[z_img/a3438fa19caa9b0904fc869f7c77f09d_MD5.jpeg]] The **ORB Driver** does not require a **User name** or **Password** to be selected. The **(Factory default)** option needs to be selected if no other option is selected. ![[z_img/f1c42e1ed015ae5d670bed67414394e2_MD5.jpeg]] For driver selection add the [ORBNET] option, there are three options. 1. **ORBNET Multi Driver** - Select for multiple channel driver (customisable number of channels) 2. **ORBNET ONVIF Driver** - Select for devices that support ONVIF 3. **ORBNET Single Driver** - Select for one channel driver, this driver has additional features. The best option is a description of the use for this driver, text with"-" replacing spaces is a good option. Select the **Hardware model**, pick one of the three options. >[!note] >For **Multi Driver** update **Port** to the number of channels you wish to use. Now you will have a **ORB Driver** device added to your **XProtect Recording Server**. > [!note] > The video channel displays **Not Licensed** to show an action is required. ![[z_img/a4611d96e3f37aed720f4ef6caf849be_MD5.jpeg]] Navigate to [ORBNET Plugins] > [Orb Driver License Settings] Any new devices will be **auto-licensed** once you visit this page. ![[z_img/e1e610bfac5d742a10b9ef8fd8116bba_MD5.jpeg]] The **Orb Driver License Manager** has three sections. - Base License Information - Top right you see the **license valid period**. For a trial the time will count-down for a expired license it will show License needs activation. Purchased license no time restriction. - Number of used channels license, total available. - Number of Recording server licenses, total available. - [Export license request] - Download file to send to [email protected] to validate a trial extension or for a purchased valid license. - [Import valid license] - Import the file that will be sent to you from ORBNET System for trial extension or for a purchased valid license. ![[z_img/cc8e2d6f2774578a7959701879a29722_MD5.jpeg|650]] - [Camera Licensing] - Check your camera device is **Enabled** and **Is Licensed** is [True]. - [Refresh] to update the hardware list - [Apply License] select a hardware device and press to apply a license to this device. - [Revoke License] select a hardware device and press to revoke a license to this device. ![[z_img/ebc7528b800ab5d8261113d99756802d_MD5.jpeg]] - [Recording Server Licensing] - Check your recoding server has **Is Licensed** set as [True]. - [Refresh] to update the server list - [Apply License] select a server and press to apply a license to this server. - [Revoke License] select a server and press to revoke a license to this server. ![[z_img/09cda9fe4fb7654e0313d512b0503b7a_MD5.jpeg|750]] You will now be able to manage your device.
