Theories and speculations about Adrian. Doesn't mean any of this stuff is true or not.

### Who was Adrian in a past life?
- see: [[Adrian (past life theories)]]
- see: [[Adrian can be cold-blooded.]]
### Why does Adrian not see that he's a stalker?
- If you call him one, you'll get some flavor text like *how dare they call me a stalker? they're so closer yet so far to the truth*.
- Ummm, he literally always lives close to you, does your hobby, and joins your club. And seemingly knows a lot about you. Like *always* does your hobby no matter how criminal, he will start the hobby and (seemingly) not really do it after some time.
- ...or so you'd think! This is touched on more below, but if you keep your distance, Adrian actually doesn't know (seemingly) as much about you as you think.
- Additionally, if you become his friend, Adrian actually reveals a lot of his likes, dislikes, weaknesses, family (kinda), past (barely), but seems especially keen to keep track of your personal likes and quirks and stuff.
- see: [[saboteur theories (2030)]]
- Accusing him of being a stalker makes him very flustered and upset with you.
- HELLO, Adrian, you literally follow us home in the shadows if we don't go to your place?!
- What's his deal?
- Perhaps Adrian is having severe cognitive dissonance and won't accept reality.
- Perhaps Adrian only learned *just enough* about you to try and be your friend and didn't go all creepy.
- Perhaps he's just very protective of you (see further below for more theories).
- Is his being a stalker simply a [[red herring]] twist on the **childhood friends (well young adult friends)** and that he's just very protective and *not* a stalker?
- Or is he genuinely a stalker but thinks he's just being protective?
- Why does this matter?
- It determines how likely he is to be a [[saboteur]] or if it's a smart idea to romance him or remain friends or acquaintances.
- In either case, I don't recommend stalker bond because of all of the drawbacks to you and Adrian's wellbeing.
- Do I think Adrian is a stalker?
- Well, **is the sky BLUE**?
- Truthfully, I think Adrian being a stalker is a [[red herring]]. I think he definitely looked into you before finding you and attaching himself to you, as he seems to know you from a long time ago. I think he's a wee bit over-protective.
- I feel this way namely because if you *don't* pursue a closer relationship, Adrian doesn't force himself into your life or discover information about you beyond what you tell him or what he sees. Which...*isn't* stalker behavior. He seems content (well not really) being near you.
- Of course, this is all I'm able to gleam through the game's narration as of now. This could all be lies...
### Adrian knows your secret.
- **Adrian knows you well**.
- This keep cropping up over and over.
- Initially, I thought that Adrian's character is used to have someone call you out for acting different (which does happen).
- I also think that it's a bit of a mystery or a [[red herring]] as to whether or not Adrian knows **far more about you** than you realize.
- If you have the [[serial killer (secret)]] and take your [[hunting knives]], Adrian will mumble "I didn't realize..."
- Possibly he noticed you were collecting knives but didn't realize how big the collection was?
- CONS
- Adrian only knew enough to first meet you during the [[hobby hub]] and is just a very observant, curious person. It would suit his job career (**Data Analyst**). Which is still pretty creepy. He also gets very offended being called a stalker, which would imply he doesn't actually stalk you all that much...
- ...aside from occasionally making sure you get home safely.
- His actions can be re-read as him struggling to get to know you better by trying too hard.
- If you choose stalker bond (see: [[Adrian's bonds]]), Adrian won't realize some facts about you.
- If you get on the elevator, he'll comment, "Thirteenth floor, huh." As if he didn't know what floor you were on (but still had to have know where you lived to be able to live close by).
- If you choose [[serial killer (secret)]] and grab knives to search around the apartment, Adrian comments on not knowing you go hunting.
### Adrian knows his past life.
- All but confirmed in his [[Adrian's Chapter 1 Interlude]], but there are dozens of clues.
- Adrian's food, tea, and music interests are EUROPEAN. Specifically? BRITISH.
- Adrian hates clairvoyants and fate.
- [[OKS dev]] mentioned the one thing Adrian wants to hear *and* also fears to hear is "You're not XXXXX anymore."
- If you mention that none of the people who ended up in Silent Hill in Chapter 1, Adrian hints that he thinks it's his fault somehow, like the characters.
- You can also re-read this as Adrian becoming more moody about the "pre-established connections" line--hinting to his foreknowledge of the situation.
### Adrian's preoccupation with death.
- Adrian clearly has a massive guilt complex over here.
- If you mention that none of the people who ended up in Silent Hill in Chapter 1, Adrian hints that he thinks it's his fault somehow, like the characters.
- CONS: You can also re-read this as Adrian becoming more moody about the "pre-established connections" line--hinting to his foreknowledge of the situation.
- Adrian will mention adding you to his will if you wanted to grab his priceless music treasures.
- Adrian doesn't date (no matter the bond you have, you will never know Adrian's romantic preferences...other than he thinks both spouses should contribute equally to chores)...almost as if he knows he'll die so why bother dating?
- CONS:
- He doesn't date because he only loves you (or is obsessed with you).
- He doesn't date because he knows the apocalypse will happen.
### Adrian's obsession with King Arthur.
- Revealed in the [[Free Time Hub]] if your bond isn't initially friend or crush, Adrian's favorite colors are red, gold, turquoise--Arthur's colors.
- Adrian is oddly insistent on King Arthur not being the one who mauled you, as if he trusts/respects the man.
- Oddly because not even YOU knew he like Arthurian tales until [[The First Dream]].
### Adrian knows about Merlin's true form.
- Adrian is the only character (so far) that calls Merlin "they"--they in a distanced way, I'm not reading as Adrian seeing Merlin as nonbinary. he seems to use his words as if he wants to be as far as possible from Merlin.
- Adrian knows Merlin can read minds and makes sure to think your alias (if you have one) in his [[Adrian's Chapter 1 Interlude]].
- Could also be why Adrian takes so long to reveal his last name...if he's lying about it and wants Merlin to not know.
- CONS:
- Adrian seems to be transfixed by Merlin when they arrive, smiling and struggling to look away from them. It could be relief or it could be they're **seeing someone *very* different** than you are.
- It's...probably not current you because he never gets confused.
- ...but it's possible Adrian knows your mannerisms so well, he doesn't get confused.
- Because of this, Adrian calls them "they" because he knows Merlin takes their form and wants to distinguish them.
- ~~Oh god, imagine flirting with Merlin in front of Adrian while Adrian sees Merlin as a past version of you that he cared about...
- This could also explain Adrian's very lengthy, protective stares at you when you hit on Merlin.
- Adrian's reluctance to say his last name could just be from not liking Merlin.
### Adrian knows about Merlin and Apocalypse.
- Confirmed in his interlude post Chapter 1.
- Confirmed when you choose to not question the lore dump and Merlin mumurs something like *Yes, the innocent ingenue doesn't suit you* which pisses Adrian off.
- Dude is wayyyy too fit.
- Dude always carries a backpack with him with literally everything inside of it.
- 1000+ cryptic sayings in Chapter 1.
- Adrian's random esoteric food binging can read as "I know the world is going to be destroyed soon so let me check out worldwide cuisines".
- If you irritate him, Adrian will say something like *You can't go against that hel--that THING* because he knows it's a Hellhound.
- He also is very attentive hearing the Hellhound's roar and trying to find it when even you didn't know what the heck it was.
- In the [[Free Time Hub]], Adrian will have already taken security measures to keep his phone safe (revealed when you have the [[gadgets (hobby)]] and bring the [[tech repair kit]]).
- It's *almost* as if Adrian has done this before, hiding his digital traces. Or researched the ways to do so.
### Adrian was involved with the [[Second (Lesser) Circle of 2020]].
- How did Adrian know [[2030!Merlin|Merlin]] would do a lore dump?
- In the [[Free Time Hub]], you can do some background digging.
- If you're friends, you already know a lot of the information *technically*.
- All of his digital footprint began 10 or so years ago ([[2020]]).
- He also went on trips around the world, most notably at the [[Stonehenge]].
- CONS
- But everyone died? And [[harbinger]]s can't reincarnate that quickly unless extreme circumstances.
- He's seems confused and unsettled when Merlin brings it up?
### Adrian's obsession with you.
- see: [[Adrian's bonds]]
- see: [[Adrian's Chapter 1 Interlude]]
- The [[OKS dev]] reveals that Adrian wouldn't even be in the same city if you weren't the main character. Interesting.
- This is in-directly confirmed when you interact with Adrian and do **not select** friendship bond. You will question how come you're only now seeing Adrian so much if he feels this familiar.
- This is also in-directly confirmed when it's revealed Adrian left home (possibly when he was 15 in [[2020]]).
- If you have the acquaintances bond, Adrian will reflect over how frustrated he was that your first meeting didn't go great and not you're not friends.
- CONS:
- If you just absolutely reek havoc on your relationship with him, if you get possessed (see: [[possessed (adrian knows)]], Adrian is *barely* bothered when he tackles you, even going so far as to say "Well, damn."
