> The most valuable real estate in the world is the graveyard. There lie millions of half-written books, ideas never launched, and talents never developed. Most people die with everything still inside of them. The way to live is to create. Die empty. Get every idea out of your head and into reality. Calling yourself creative doesn’t make it true. Make finishing your top priority. > > Derek Sivers ### What I'm Doing Now I've been spending a lot of time tending sheep. We've been lambing since 8th January and I got quite involved. I became friends with Dot Dot, nursed Dolly back to health, and acquired another follower in Miss Pushy. We had a brief lull as the main round of lambing didn't start again until April. I've started working a couple of days a week at the care farm, building the charity's foundations. ### What I'm Writing I've had a lapse in writing daily. Life, work and everything else took over. I've also learned, as a Human Design Manifestor, that sometimes I just need to regroup and relax. I don't like that as I'm used to pushing on but it does help. ### What I'm Reading [Walking in this World](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Walking-This-World-Spiritual-strategies-ebook/dp/B004ASOWBG/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3DF4HXVBIITYA&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9._9g2FgE46wdBzvbGKrkKZI3CFBroBkgngx9KUeemiivEfTS8MrLxrg71gNGjacza.tUaI83VgAyfAUdwi7VdY2hFPznvIx8M4peRUbDnvWCQ&dib_tag=se&keywords=walking+in+this+world+julia+cameron&qid=1710178761&sprefix=walking+in+this+w%2Caps%2C75&sr=8-1) - Julia Cameron [The Complete Short Stories](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Short-Stories-One-ebook/dp/B00EAA6QFE/ref=sr_1_1?crid=P1QD8YWD2HF1&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.vuwO650NoqJBROn9d6vdWVqCpe4yEPYVlNq68jpYcyO_BUeltSITgFx4Oflrwjiqkap0G1vwhXT5Nv4QfqR1LSnhC2bQ12LBMrxm2gTMpKIkpHGsZ9NfN7r3kJ2Wgf8PR2YFNMwOBYmezeolTcLa40YhZQjv6SMWy4moeR4eBDF9pp1WkuphvvZUIfIxiEX91jZJBtxwhSm3L7LPgRqXKDT6QfXJxImAIfYU6C7KCu4.xbiTOCkd0jz6lTKXbq3Jwwpl0sEYbRo71EgPkbHVEZ0&dib_tag=se&keywords=short+stories+roald+dahl&qid=1710178734&sprefix=short+stories+roald+dahl%2Caps%2C80&sr=8-1) - Roald Dahl [Hagitude](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hagitude-Reimagining-Second-Half-Life-ebook/dp/B09MZXPZ7D/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3M142KJ0L7I24&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.xeO3DbaOeRb7s6oQdnLbgnNmm5hiybSTxs6gj9zpUaMrg0JlxtGuBBSzlkSZixlphTRxfnCAOCYvmefNDhd6Yq3Pew1T4laTHxuvQskEqvk.r851UzJrSjdzYeuM_z7HTr0p0cgdPwL8FddKVtcjxv8&dib_tag=se&keywords=hagitude&qid=1710178694&sprefix=hagitude%2Caps%2C73&sr=8-1) - Sharon Blackie [The Rewilding of Molly McFlynn](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rewilding-Molly-McFlynn-Sue-Reed-ebook/dp/B0CLNK29YT/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&dib_tag=se&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.uYCvfb2RavzOJR23LoXfudOsIbNIkniN_Yp6flDMJeI.OJr5NnqX3Z5sBE3hZ36SaTcG7dlQ7l1pTEyiM2PLR08&qid=1710178660&sr=8-1) - Sue Reed ### Why Obsidian Publish? I've used Obsidian for 2 or 3 years, with a few sabbaticals in between. For once, I didn't burn everything down and it's good to come back and find all my jottings still intact. Being able to publish writing quickly and easily is a game changer. I like writing here. It's friction and distraction free. I've also learned a lot about note taking and have expanded the scope of what I write and log. I'm revisiting my book. As is always the case, each review leads to the book taking on a slightly different form. I'm reading about [book writing methods](https://katherinemay.substack.com/p/how-i-start-a-new-book) to try to find a process that works for me. David Almond has inspired me in a couple of videos where he talks about his imperfect writing process, which has made me rethink my approach to book writing. ![](https://youtu.be/jOAm-yTWMA0?si=q7RMwXLDfJjZm2DF) --- _Part of_ [this](https://nownownow.com/about)_.
