>[!quote] The most valuable real estate in the world is the graveyard. There lie millions of half-written books, ideas never launched, and talents never developed. Most people die with everything still inside of them. The way to live is to create. Die empty. Get every idea out of your head and into reality. Calling yourself creative doesn’t make it true. Make finishing your top priority ~ Derek Sivers
### What I'm Doing Now
I'm part of the team setting up a CIC and Care Farm, Men's Shed, Forest School and Open Food Network.
On a different farm, we have a smallholding with hens and raised beds, and I help out as a part time farm hand and shepherd.
### What I'm Writing
I'm spending 90 days writing, reading, regrouping, inspired by a [Tim Denning](https://publish.obsidian.md/notealoud/Digital+Garden/90+Days/*+Why) prompt.
I've fallen down a Stephen Wolfram rabbit hole. Only recently coming across him and his work, I'm in awe of the archive he's been creating over the past 30 years or more. Listening to him talk and reading his books and other writing has focused my mind and made me double down on building my own archive, even this late in the day.
>[!quote] As personal analytics develops, it’s going to give us a whole new dimension to experiencing our lives. At first it all may seem quite nerdy (and certainly as I glance back at this blog post there’s a risk of that). But it won’t be long before it’s clear how incredibly useful it all is—and everyone will be doing it, and wondering how they could have ever gotten by before. And wishing they had started sooner, and hadn’t “lost” their earlier years.
I'm still going down the Stephen Wolfram rabbit hole.
### What I'm Reading
- Adventures of a Computational Explorer - Stephen Wolfram
- Retirement Rebel - Siobhan Daniels
### On the To Be Read Pile
- Bartleby and Me - Gay Talese
- The Yoga of Eating: Transcending Diets and Dogma to Nourish the Natural Self - Charles Eisenstein
- The Mitford Girls Guide to Life - Lyndsy Spence
### My Toolkit
- Twos
- Voicenotes
- Obsidian/Publish
- Napkin
- Omnivore
I'm on a quest to simplify my tech life and to create more regularly. All of the above tools are ones that I use daily. They're already part of my workflow. I look for apps that work and integrate well together.
### Why Obsidian Publish?
I've used Obsidian for 2 or 3 years, with a few sabbaticals in between. For once, I didn't burn everything down and it's good to come back and find all my jottings still intact.
I signed up to Obsidian Publish after using a variety of free options. They're all great but need time consuming configuration. I just want to write and publish quickly without fuss.
