My name is Nicolás Cereijo Ranchal. If we already know each other, hello again. If not, welcome! This is my personal blog, or digital garden, as it's called these days. Here I'll share my opinions, projects and ideas, away from the noise of social media. For who I am professionally, you'll find my LinkedIn below. I'm not convinced by the idea of talking about a topic, throwing it into the abyss of algorithms and SEO, and letting it get lost among the layers of time on the internet. Each topic gets its own note, which I'll update as time goes on. ## <img src="undraw_empty-street_3ogh.svg" width="10%"> Why a digital garden? I like sharing opinions and reading other people's, stepping outside my own information bubble to see what others have to say from different points of view. I don't like ephemeral arguments, or the noise and hate that circulates on social media. My sense of the internet over the last few years is that the signal-to-💩 ratio keeps shrinking. I like sharing my opinion with others, with context. I don't like the idea of someone reading me with the intention of forming an opinion about me in two or three minutes, just to file me under "for" or "against." ## <img src="undraw_hang-out_rxuc.svg" width="10%"> On listening and disagreeing I try not to confuse affection with agreement. There are people I like who I still disagree with on several topics. I try not to take the liberty of correcting them out of arrogance, although I sometimes give in to the temptation. The opposite happens too. There are people I don't particularly like, but whose opinions on certain topics strike me as mature, and I try to listen to them all the same, even when it's hard. It's tiring to feel like exchanging opinions online is a war to fight and win every day. No internet argument is worth that much wear. I build and write, not to change anyone's mind, but to show what I do. That's why a digital garden. Nobody looking to spend three minutes or less of their time would have made it this far.
