On a critical the character may substitute one of his weapon’s damage dice for its full value. For example a Hatchet which normally does 1d6 damage would instead be treated as a 6, whereas a great axe with 2d6+2 damage would instead inflict 1d6+8 damage. This special effect may be stacked. Although it can also be used for natural weapons, Maximise Weapon Damage Dice does not affect the Damage Modifier of the attacker, which must be rolled normally.
