I thought it was going to be too much for me, but apart from a couple scenes, it was alright. I guess I'm getting used to horror - at least those that are not too gory and graphic? Sweeney's performance here was nice indeed, and the setting and music! At some point I was wondering "hey, this music sounds familiar" and... IT'S FROM The Red Queen Kills Seven Times!!!!!! Huge thumbs up!! Another huge positive is that it's under 1:30. With so many newer movies being closer to 2 hours, it's refreshing to watch a movie that doesn't waste as much time and stays focused - and keeps you glued to the screen instead of boring you away Unfortunately, you can notice the streaming compression on Prime Video, and I wonder how great would this have looked in a 4k bluray. Maybe someday that'll be released in 4k? But even a regular bluray would definitely be a great pick! ## Liked Reviews > [!review] Jeff Rauseo^[https://letterboxd.com/jeffrauseo/film/immaculate-2024/] > Amazing religious horror mixed with tons of giallo elements including a beautiful setting and chilling music. It’s a real throwback horror movie that Argento, Bava, and Fulci would be proud of. The film is fast-paced at 87 minutes and will have you glued to the screen. > Sydney Sweeney really kills it (no pun intended) and the ending is something out of your most extreme nightmares. I really enjoyed the story, which went in a direction I didn’t fully expect. Buckle up and enjoy this one! > [!review] Joseph Hagan^[https://letterboxd.com/josephhagan75/film/immaculate-2024/] > Sydney Sweeney was having Nun of it. > [!review] Kat^[https://letterboxd.com/frostyfoxx/film/immaculate-2024/] > Rosemary's baby drowned in blood. > "Immaculate" is a movie about bodily autonomy, a grim satire on the Catholic Church's treatment of women, and proudly shows its lurid nunsploitation madness. Sidney Sweeney's believable portrayal of innocent purity to acting creature of rage underpins this insanity. The gory and brave ending is definitely memorable. ## Mediabook There's an European mediabook that looks SO good. It's so sad that we don't have many mediabooks released here :/ ![](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhoxzzbWhJo) ## Gallery ### Movie Screenshots / Backdrops ![[Immaculate (2024)-20241007115313729.jpg]] ![[Immaculate (2024)-20241007115330647.jpg]] ![[Immaculate (2024)-20241007115457466.jpg]] ![[Immaculate (2024)-20241007115529637.jpg]] ### Favorite Posters ![[Immaculate (2024)-20241007115609538.jpg]] ![[Immaculate (2024)-20241007115655243.jpg]] ![[Immaculate (2024)-20241025185033822.jpg]] ![[Immaculate (2024)-20241025185059146.jpg]] ![[Immaculate (2024)-20241025185140359.jpg]]
