### **Story Keeper** (Requires Attunement):
As your level increases, you gain the following benefits while attuned to and carrying this book:
- **5th level**:
- You **double your proficiency bonus** on Arcana, History, Nature, and Religion checks.
- If you don’t have proficiency in these skills, you gain it.
- You can cast **identify** as an action from the book (once per day).
- **9th level**:
- By studying the book for 10 minutes, you can recall obscure facts, tales, or lore as if casting **[[Legend Lore]]**. The subject doesn't need to be legendary, but historically significant subjects yield more information. Once per day.
- **13th level**:
- Your **Intelligence** score increases by 2, to a maximum of 20.
- When you fail an Arcana, History, Nature, or Religion check, you can **choose to succeed** instead (once per day).
- **17th level**:
- Your **Wisdom** score increases by 2, to a maximum of 20.
- If you die (by a cause other than old age) while attuned to the book, your memories and soul can enter the book. While in the book, you are aware of your surroundings and can **telepathically communicate** with the book’s holder.
- You can be restored to life by spells such as **raise dead** or **resurrection** without needing your body present. The spellcaster must touch the book to restore you.

- The original book’s whereabouts are **unknown**, and many have searched in vain for it.
- It is rumored that **[[Talvin the Wanderer|Talvin]]’s spirit** resides within the original book, preserving his stories for all time.
