Book found in [[The Black Halls]]. **The [[Wand of Orcus]]** The ghastly [[Wand of Orcus]] rarely leaves Orcus’s side. The device, as evil as its creator, shares the demon lord’s aims to snuff out the lives of all living things and bind the Material Plane in the stasis of undeath. Orcus allows the wand to slip from his grasp from time to time. When it does, it magically appears wherever its master senses an opportunity to achieve some fell goal. Made from bones as hard as iron, the wand is topped with a magically enlarged skull that once belonged to a human hero slain by [[Orcus]]. The wand can magically change in size to better conform to the grip of its user. Plants wither, drinks spoil, flesh rots, and vermin thrive in the wand’s presence. **The [[Ruby Rod]] of [[Asmodeus]]** The [[Ruby Rod]] of Asmodeus was created by Asmodeus from a sliver of the shard of evil – said to be the artifact of unfathomable evil which created the [[Abyss]] – which he used to kill He Who Was, his superior at the time. This was during the Dawn War. The crafting of the rod required a piece of the shard of evil and a huge ruby to be soaked in the blood of a thousand sacrificed mortals, quenched in [[Tiamat]]'s acidic saliva, and polished with 777 angel tears.  According to the play [[The Trial of Asmodeus]], which was allegedly based on facts, Asmodeus was obliged to always carry the [[Ruby Rod]] of Asmodeus by [[Primus]]. The rod would act both as a symbol for him and his devils' right to forge pacts with mortals and as a punishment device for all devils that do not respect the strictures of their bargains. **Sphere of Annihilation** This 2-foot-diameter black sphere is a hole in the multiverse, hovering in space and stabilized by a magical field surrounding it. The sphere obliterates all matter it passes through and all matter that passes through it. Artifacts are the exception. Unless an Artifact is susceptible to damage from a Sphere of Annihilation, it passes through the sphere unscathed.
