Most had arcane ties to a white dragon of that age. They named their settlement [[Jorumgard]], meaning “Here there be dragons” in some ancient arcane tongue. Over the next two centuries,  their armies of dragon-worshiping warrior mages studied ancient texts on dragon-kind to unlock more power hidden within their bloodline.  They named their governing body **_[[The Council of Ice]]_**. While only Nidh-Cthon knows the absolute truth, many rumors and myths tell the tale of his arrival and his interactions with [[The Council of Ice]].  What is believed from the stories is that he played the fool to the Council, feigning great fear of them and their magic. He offered them his services as a guard and crafter of tunnels and showed great humility. His words flattered the council, and their own hubris let them believe they held power over this force of nature.  When the members completed the preparations for a ritual that they believed would transform them into true dragons, they retired to their chambers, secure in the knowledge that their draconic guardian would ensure them an undisturbed rest. Instead, Nidh-Chton fed. A few of the most prescient members of the council rallied and fought against the void dragon, but they could not match him, their heritage a mere echo against the thunder of his might. He consumed every one of them, even as their screams rang through the passageways of his new domain. His body, once rough and dull, now shimmered sharp as twilight, and his horns glittered with starlight. Each beating of his great wings flashed between emptiness and a scintillating brilliance. His eyes shone like many suns burning in the void. Infused with raw draconic energy, Nidh-Chton became the unrivaled lord of [[Jorumgard]], and there he has remained for the past seven centuries. # Session Reference - [[Session 28]]
