Top level page for my work in Obsidian. I started it as an attempt at a digital
_Common Place Book_[^1] but it's morphed since then.
I will be adding topics as I work on them.
# Transitioning to an MOC organization
I'm attempting to use a new way of organizing the material, called the Maps of Content_ (MOC) method. Some of my material will only appear there, so if you want to see some, go to [[_CommonPlace Book MOC]]
The first few pages there are **very high level**, but just follow your nose down any particular topic. It's pretty sparse at the moment, but it should fill out as time goes by.
# Jack Smith Immunity Brief (Jan 6th Case)
This is the top level file for my attempt as a synopsis of the 165 page brief before Judge [[Tanya Chutkan]]. I've tried to distill the contents down to a more manageable size. It's still pretty big, but I hope it'll be more useful to the average reader than the original.
See [[Jack Smith Immunity Brief (Jan 6th case)]]
[[2024-11-07]] - this case, along with the Mar a Lago case, will undoubtedly go away, now that Trump has once more gained the White House.
# Trump 2.0
Discssusion of the 2nd Trump administration, see [[Trump 2.0]]
## [[Trump's Golf Outings During 2nd Term]]
# Relgion
I am not religious. However, I find discussions of religion fascinating. Lately I've been listening to video's by a scholar of religion and named [[Dan McClellan]] who discusses interpretations of the bible he finds unjustified, given the data of the texts themselves, the surviving information about the cultures in which those texts were written, including other contemporaneous texts, as well as philological and archeological data. I invite you to visit the link above.
# Science Denial (from Flat Earthers to Intelligent Design)
# Health Care in the U.S.
# Political Extremism and Fascism in the U.S.
# Footnotes
[^1]: A method used since antiquity to write down snippets of knowledge, quotes, aphorisms of the books one was reading at any particular time. The philosopher [[John Locke]] wrote an essay on the method he used to index the book which became quite popular. See [_common place book_,](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commonplace_book)
