The outline of the plan was... 1. Get a group of Republican electors in each of the 7 battleground states (AZ,MI,WI,PA,GA,NM,NV), tellingn them that they to be ready as *alternative electors*, should any of the litigation go Trump's way. However, it was clear from several of [[Kenneth Chesebro]] emails, texts as well as some memos that the claim these were 'contingent' slates was false, and that the conspirators always intended to introduce these as competing slates in order to 'gum up the works.' 2. At this point, pressure was put on Pence to simply discard the slates the states had certified and select the alternative slates. Pence was unwlling to do this and made that clear. 3. Alternatively, with the pretext of these 'alternative slates' calling into question the existence of an unambiguous result, pressure was put on Pence to declare there was no slate for these battleground states, and that certification process should be suspended for 10 days and the matter should be sent back to the states so that they could which slates to use. In furtherance of this plan, the conspirators (mostly Chesebro and Eastman) conspired to have the fake slates act as much as they could so as to be in accordance with each state law, that is to follow the forms and procedures. However, this was impossible, since, for example, some states, for example, require the Governor to sign the slate of electors and that simply wasn't going to happen. Likewise, for example, in MI, the electors must meet and vote in the state capital building. They were not allowed into that building on 12/12 (the day the electors were supposed to vote) they instead voted in a RNC building a short distance away, which makes their vote invalid. ## Procedural failures The biggest failure, is, of course, that these states had already finalized the certification of the electors. In addition, the failures of procedure in each individual state is... - Arizona : Requires the Governors signature. - Michigan: They must meet in the capital building. They weren't allowed in, so they voted in a RNC headquarters building down the street. - Georgia: Requires the signature of the Secretary of State. - Wisconsin: Electors must be certfied by state officials and the governor. - Nevada: Requires the signature of the Secretary of State. Also, many of the fake electors had been told that their slate would **only be used** in the case that Trump won his cases in that state. Some of the fake electors included language making that clear (see discussion of PA below) and when this news got to Chesebro and Eastman, they rushed to stop other slates from taking similar action. They also cautioned each other to restrain their expression of certain issues on texting and messaging services. In some states the cases were done by 12/12 (the final case in both MI and NV was dismissed on 12/4) and yet the conspirators still required these fake electors to vote (which they did) This demonstrates conclusively that the slates of fake electors were never contingent at all and the conspirators intended to obstruct the final proceeding in the U.S. capitol by passing these slates of fake electors as legitimate, thus 'gumming up the works' Fake electors have been charged in Georgia and Michigan, and there are investigations in Arizona. In that case [[Jenna Ellis]] has agreed to cooperate with the prosecution, and so has had her charges dropped. However, if she doesn't freely and fully cooperate, she's libel to be charged and prosecuted to the fullest extent. Prosecutors do not take such shenanigans lightly. In Pennsylvania the fake electors put language in their documents saying that these votes were contingent on Trump winning his court cases in that state. This step is probably why none of them have been charged with any crimes.
