#zettel #gaming/gripe sourced from: [[Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Gates to Infinity]] # The Top-Down View in the Dungeons of 'Gates to Infinity' is Way Too Zoomed In The view in the dungeon is really zoomed in compared to Super Mystery Dungeon, and the layout of the dungeons being more "natural" compared to some of the room shapes in [[Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team]] and [[Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky]]. I think I'm actually having a real issue with this, since it prevents me from seeing the entire room, which in turn makes it harder for me to move effectively around foes. An example of this came from navigating through the third dungeon in the game, Hazy Pass, where I couldn't see the Sewaddle off in the distance, but they would String Shot me. In previous games, I would try to navigate a similar situation by accurately moving in such a way that I wasn't directly in the 8 directional path on the directional grid. In Gates, however, I can't do that efficiently because I cannot see which foes are in the room that are further than maybe 2-3 squares in any direction. and this is how I feel in the THIRD dungeon of the game. Once I reached places like Inflora Forest, I just defaulted to more or less watching the bottom screen since I had a whole view of the map there, compared to the top screen wher eI could literally only see two tiles in front of any attacking direction at any time. I couldn't see the golurk in the golurk fight.
