#zettel #musing #potentialessay # Is the Shiny Leaf in [[Pokemon Heart Gold|HGSS]] the most forgotten/obscure Pokemon Sidequest? The whole "5-Star Trainer Card proves gameplay completion" in Pokemon is something I've held onto for a while. ## HGSS Requirements - Defeat the Elite Four - Defeat all records on the 10 Pokeathalon Events - 100 Battle Streak in the Battle Tower - Complete the National Pokedex - Get 5 Shiny Leaves on one Pokemon The first four are pretty standard but the fifth one? Get Five Shiny Leaves? You could go the whole game without knowing these ever even existed since they're so obscure. They only show up on specific routes for specific natures, and the game never tells you about them otherwise, compared to the rest of the requirements in other games. Not gonna lie, I really like this if only because it sounds like something you could make up on the playground. Ultimately it's because [[The Shiny Leaf Sidequest is Very Unique because of how hidden it is]] even for Pokemon. See [[What Does it Mean When Our Pets Give Us Something - The Shiny Leaf Appreciation Essay]] for progress! ## The Requirements for other games ### BDSP - Defeat Elite Four and Champion - Obtain 100 Variants of Statues in Underground - Complete a Master Rank Super Contest - Reach 100 Battle Streak in Battle tower - Complete the National Pokedex ### Sun and Moon and USUM - A lot more but all involve either beating the island challenge registering all the pokemon on a given island, or getting battle streaks in the battle tree. Also Pokefinder, which is just taking a lot of photos. ### X and Y and ORAS - Only has three stages (thanks Gen 6) - Beat Elite 4 - Complete Kalos Dex - 50 Battle streak at the Battle Maison ### Black and White - Defeat Elite Four - Complete National Dex - Collect all Pokemon Musical Goods - Obtain all Extralink Powers - Get a 49 streak in Super Singles and Super Doubles on the Battle Subway ### Black 2 and [[Pokemon White 2 |White 2]] (love all these btw since they're realistic) - Defeat the Elite Four - Complete National Dex - Complete all PokéStar Studio Movies (great sidequest, but not obscure) - Defeat the Champions within the Pokémon World Tournament - Gain Entree levels of 30 for Black & White ### DPP - Same as BDSP but has the capture the flag instead of Statues ### RSE - Beat Pokemon League - Win all 5 Master Rank Contests - 50 Trainer Streak in BAttle tower - Complete Hoenn Pokedex ### FR LG - Defeat Pokemon League - Jump 200 Times in Pokemon Jump and Collect 200 BErries in Dodrio Berry Picking - Complete Kanto Pokedex - Complete National Dex
