# Chrono Cross is a Relaxing Game
There are very few moments in Chrono Cross that are truly stressful. Each part of the game is open and colorful and interesting, without being stressful in the way that other games can be. Whereas [[Final Fantasy VII]] is dark and gritty and full of despair, Chrono Cross opts for a calm island vibe with life is abound, [[Chrono Cross's Consistent Warm Tropical Aesthetic is Great Because It Gives the Game an Identity|it's a wonderful aesthetic]].
Little-to-no grinding is needed unless you want to raise your general stats, and at some point fighting enemies will no longer provide any useful benefit other than option crafting items. [[Chrono Cross's Combat is Novel for a JRPG because it is deep yet forgiving]] is also relatively stress free beyond learning optimal strategies. Level-ups only happen form Boss Fights, so the player never has to worry about being over or under levelled. And with the combat system in the game, Elements are only usable once in battle, which means that if all elements are used up, the party can simply run away from the fight (this includes regular encounters, Boss fights and even the Final Boss). Chrono Cross is the perfect game to play through if you're looking for a comfy adventure through tropical biomes while still wanting to have an interesting JRPG experience.
