#game-review # Master Detective Archives Raincode  [Console:: Nintendo Switch] [Status:: Playing] [Approximate Start Date:: 2025-02-02] [Finish Date:: ] [Clear Time:: ] [Total Play Time:: 2h] [nReplays:: 0] ## [Rating:: 53] # Playthrough Notes - I'm watching Erin play this on the futon, which IMO counts for a visual novel like this since i'm sure as hell not gonna play it otherwise. # My Thoughts - This game is bringing out the most awful [[Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc]] fan bullshit in the both of us, lol - It took about 20 minutes for the game to reference Monokuma. - I admire that the game presents us with all these detectives with quirks that are basically just "Super Duper High School Level" talents but for adults, and then immediately kills them all and forces us to actually solve the mystery, but I also think that they're not really dead - It seems like it's Kodaka saying "this is not Danganronpa, chill out." which is an honestly meaningful thing to do after the ending of [[Danganronpa V3]]. - NOPE THEY'rE FUCKING DEAD LOL - SPIKE CHUNSOFT BABY - The "nailman"!!! - I think this is just such a Kodaka thing. The style of this character looks just like something from Ultra Despair Girls. - We're mean to this game because we love how ridiculous it all is. - Shinigami has a fascination with locked room mysteries, ahhh - Shinigami gets jealous the moment she finds a mortal with a remotely comparable bust size, oh shinigami. ## The Setting - Kanai Ward - The constant rain in the Kanai Ward is a really distinct choice that adds some dreariness to everything - Very Midgar [[Final Fantasy VII]] - The fact that we don't even see a clear sunny sky, even in the prolgue, excpet on the train throuhg a window is a really important feature. The surrounding enviropnemnt and enver seeing the sun makes the clearing of weather be a very distinct presence. - You notice the neon a LOT - Erin likened this to the lower town are in [[1000xRESIST]]. # Favorite Moments / Memories - # What were you doing when not playing this? - # Relevant Links -
