# Nyquist Sampling Rate
The Nyquist Sampling Rate (or simply "Nyquist Rate") is a value equal to twice the highest frequency (bandwidth) of a given signal or function and is the highest sampling rate that avoids [[Aliasing]]. This sampling rate is a property of a continuous-time signal. This rate is determined by the [[Nyquist-Shannon Theorem]].
The Nyquist Sampling Rate has a proportional measure in the frequency domain known as the Nyquist Frequency, which is equal to half the sample-rate in the discrete space
