Active Interrogation is a radiation detection technique that stimulates a target by an external radiation source of neutrons or gamma rays. These interrogative processes will often look for radiation that is emitted from the target to determine what the target is made out of, which is helpful for detecting [[Special Nuclear Material|SNM]] as it might emit neutrons which are otherwise absent in non-fissile material. ![[Pasted image 20220826111355.png]] We look specifically for three types of fission signatures: 1. Number of particles 2. Energy of particles 3. Time of particles - Prompt vs. delayed
