In particular, I work on the development of [[CdZnTe (CZT) Detectors]] for [[Radiography]] applications (or more generally high energy and high flux radiation environments). You can find my general, perhaps more professional, website at [https://peterhotvedt.com/](https://peterhotvedt.com), and you can find me on Twitter [@PeterHotvedt](https://twitter.com/PeterHotvedt). Beyond academia, I do freelance voice acting, make gaming video essays hosted here for now, and my [Youtube page](https://www.youtube.com/c/voltage1202) and stream at [twitch.tv/voltagevo](https://twitch.tv/voltagevo), to name a few other practices. I am always trying to learn and grow as a person, researcher, media critic, and any other title I care to attribute with myself. This space is where I do a lot of that. Come see what I'm into [[!Right Now]] and [[Guest Book|sign the guestbook]] while you're at it. <br/> # About this Vault [[why myaiba|This space, myaiba]], like many other Obsidian Publish sites is a place where I allow myself to explore thoughts and information in a more physical space. I find that this space works as a personal wiki space of all the things I find interesting, almost like a strange digital adaptation of a commonplace book. I first started using Obsidian July 7th, 2022 (wow over two years now!), and everything in this vault has been developed since then! This vault contains a lot of different pages on things that I might find unique, interesting, relevant to my research. I regret to share that most of my actual research notes and meeting notes are not published, and I have no intent of doing so for proprietary reasons, sorry! The vault also contains a lot of pages on various forms of hobby media like Video Games, Books, Movies, TV Shows, and websites I have engaged with, as well as a few notes and ideas I've generated from them. All of these notes, however, allow me to practice my own communication skills both in writing through some soft-published essays and through speech like when I talk about then person-to-person or on stream. Please note that a lot of these notes are subjective and sometimes incomplete, and that's okay. Come back in a couple weeks and maybe they'll be different, who knows? I need to make it clear first and foremost, while I enjoy the concept of a [[Zettelkasten]] and what it can do for people, I also think that [[Attempting to Force Myself into Someone Else's Structure is Tiring and Unhelpful]], and that [[My notes are written for me]]. These are all pretty standard disclaimers on a lot of Obsidian Publish sites, but I have found that my, perhaps more disorganized, system works best for me. You might find as you explore the pages of this Obsidian Publish page notes or pages that definitely go against common "practice", but that's alright with me, I'll adjust my own workflow as necessary. I also apologize for any pages that might appear incomplete beyond basic idea development, Obsidian Publish doesn't support community plug-ins and I use the dataview plug-in pretty often when logging lists about my [[Gaming History Log|gaming backlog]], for example. ==ALSO CONSIDER THIS YOUR SPOILER WARNING FOR ANY AND ALL NARRATIVE THINGS IN HERE.== There are some pages you can't visit, mainly my personal ones that involve my daily notes, meeting notes, and information that's best kept to myself for one reason or another. If people care enough about it, I might make my templates visible if that might be of use, but I promise you that they're really not that interesting. and yeah i use the default theme, what about it <br/> # About You If you've made it this far you're probably interested in other people's knowledge management methods and techniques, including how one might maintain their [[Digital Gardens|digital garden]], for example. You might find some errors in my content when it comes to technical information, or might have different opinion on ideas and concepts that I'm developing with the ``#musing`` tag, for example. I ask that: - you offer me some grace as I present my learning in all stages and offer me the right to be wrong, as [[Learning in Public Guarantees that I'll Hold Myself to a Higher Standard when it comes to quality of my notes]], - you take everything written on here with a grain of salt and come to your own conclusions about any and all things found in this vault, - attribute anything you might find on here to me, ideally with a backlink. I don't waive copyright for commercial purposes, but feel free to form your own ideas from mine. With all that said, if you do have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to [email me](mailto:[email protected]), or DM me on twitter about it. I will be open-minded. <br/> # Where to Start: You can either look at the various folders on the left-hand side of the site as that's where all of my notes are organized. You can also take to searching for keywords in the search bar, or visit the graph view and see what stands out to you. Maybe even [[Guest Book|sign the guestbook]]. ### Or you can have a look at some of these pages! - [[Shockley-Ramo Theorem]] - A foundational concept in my research. - [[Compton Imaging]] - A very well connected conceptual note - [[Streaming on Twitch is an Example of Intrinsic Motivation for me]] - A small example of a more refined, miniature essay of sorts that I have repeatedly curated over time. It might soon end up in `C399 Finished Video Essays` where you can find some silly little essays I've written. - Or [[!Right Now]], as previously noted :] Whatever you decide to do, just remember that the "[[You Can Only Fall Down Wikipedia Rabbit Holes when Bored]]" idea applies to Digital Gardens too. Don't smell the roses for too long :] <br/># Where to Start: You can either look at the various folders o# Where to Start: You can either look at the various folders on the left-hand side of the site as that's where all of my notes are organized.
