Someday the graph will look this clear--* ![[picture for website in different format 1.jpg]] The site is built around how to find the music. The categories are, according to importance, Self licensed, E C Schirmer Classical, IMSLP, Music Notes, Art Song Central, Northstar, and Schott. #selflicensed #ecschirmer #imslp #musicnotes #northstar #schott #artsongcentral This project started out as a way for producers, performers, and audiences to track down my work, which is mostly in opera and vocal music. It has turned into a bit of an annotated catalogue-autobiography. While I think traditional scholarly biographies are great, folks don't generally read them or buy them. I have one of CARLISLE FLOYD, one of my teachers. I own it, I've dipped into it, but I haven't read it. I thought this way would be more suitable for our time--more informal, but also more helpful. So you will find this useful in a hypertext way, but definitely not as perfect as something that an author, editor, and publisher would achieve, with its indexes and bibliographies. ![[IMG_0142.jpg|300]] *With fellow student Craig Bohmler on a visit to Carlisle Floyd in Tallahassee in 2011.* Embrace the chance element. Think of exploring here as a role playing game. Take a peek at the graph by clicking on the biggest node. Then, looking at the graph, start with what you recognize and then click through to it. I've tried to leave a trail of breadcrumbs that will lead you on. If you click on a tag like #chamberopera then all of the relevant nodes will be listed. This site is part catalogue and part autobiography, so I hope it'll be entertaining enough to explore. So go back to the graph and start nosing around.
