# Write in the margin of your books
Because [[Writing]] in a [[Books|Book]] is like communicating with its author, don't be afraid to annotate, draw, sketch out, think, talk in the margins of your books. It's a great practice in [[🧠 Notetaking]] and to further comprehension.

A technique I am starting to love is writing out my thoughts before I even understand the exact gist of the text. It makes me formulate the question and consider how much I already know. Writing out the question can help me actually formulate the answer already. This answer might be wrong, but this puts writing further down in the book in direct relation to something I already thought about.
