# Permacomputing Permacomputing aims at only using computing when it has a strengthening effect on ecosystems. ## Thoughts ### Criticism and reactionary vision [[2023-07-02]]: one thing that disturbs me about that movement is that through it's nerd-cottage-core aesthetics, it is actually just cosplaying at sustainability, instead of really exploring the potential of computers to actually strength ecosystems. This is all linked to the [[Anarchist Backend Software]] ideas behind [[GO GO GOLEMS]] which I think could really help with such things, especially with [[IDEA - GO GO Datadrop]] to collect scientific data (low-power [[IoT]]). I wonder if there could be a better name for a technology movement that really tries to do proper engineering.
