# RFCs [[Software Engineering]] [[Writing as a programmer]] [[Staff Engineer]] RFCs are Request for Comments documents used to submit proposals for new features / architectures / changes. The chapter in [[BOOK - Staff Engineer - Will Larson]] made me put more effort into getting them adopted at [[Formlabs]]. It still took me writing about 10-15 RFCs without much resonance before it started to catch on. In general, big opensource project probably have a very good workflow, maybe a bit bureaucratic, especially when [[Programming Languages]] are involved. The downside is that they probably don't operate based on market and product pressure.
