The [[Torah]] is the compilation of the first five books of the Hebrew Bible. In Christianity, the Torah is also known as the Pentateuch or the Five Books of Moses. In Rabbinical Jewish tradition it is also known as the Written Torah. ### Islam The [[Torah|Tawrat]] is the Arabic-language name for the [[Torah]] within its context as an [[Islam|Islamic]] holy book believed by Muslims to have been given by [[God]] to the prophets and messengers amongst the Children of Israel. In the [[Quran|Qur'an]], the word '[[Torah|Tawrat]]' occurs eighteen times. When referring to traditions from th[[Islamic world|e Tawra]]t, Muslims have not only identified it with the [[Torah|Pentateuch]] (the [[Torah|Five Books of Moses]]), but also with the other books of the Hebrew Bible.
