# Recommended Procedure for Klar's Steel Plates These are notes from a conversation I had with David Hull. He recommends [[Notes/Adrian's Mod|Adrian's Mod]] but with * 3 grains of [[Shameless Plug|Glass]] * not just 2.5 These steps may differ because the ingredients (therefore the sensitivity) of the compound will vary ## The Steps - ### Start with clean components Both the cups and the anvils - ### Add the dry primer compound - [[EPH 2x Series Recipes|Eph2x]] - A full cup (level with the rim) a business card works well - ### Make a Divot - Slight depression will assist eating of the anvil - Use the plate provided - ### Seat the anvil flush to the rim or close to flush - ### Extract the entire primer cup out of the plate Pressing the primers up and out using the plate provide - ### Activate the Primers - Use 50:50 isopropyl alcohol:distilled water - Use an eyedropper or mist from a spray bottle - Fully saturate the primer(s) until a full bead is observed - ### Allow Cure Time - A bare minimum of 20 minutes is Required but an hour may is recommended - Do NOT start dehydrating before the minimum cure time as elaped - ### Dehydration - A full 2 or 3 days air drying is recommended - 2 hours in a reloading oven set a high temp 400 F - or both (before reloading)
