# 3D Printers
Printerless but Not Pennyless
If you don't own a 3D printer. If you ask a member to 3D print a part for you - figure out a way to compensate them for their time.
The printers are getting less expensive and it's getting a little easier to print the models. However - the printers can be expensive (as well as the filaments) but the printers are necessarily slow and many parts have to be printed out multiple times to obtain a good one.
Consider this - to print a 3D model of a cell phone cover may take 3 or more hours (depending). To draw/design a cell phone cover (from scratch) and it actually fit would probably take me a few days and multiple failed prints.
